Abstract
In this Chapter, we revisit the methodology developed in synthesizing 4-hydroxycoumarin analogues by adapting C3- and O-alkylation strategies using sulfated tin oxide as catalyst. In addition to describing the details of the synthetic strategies, including the biological activity performed, we offer a historical perspective of the development in the field.
