Abstract

The effect of diflubenzuron was evaluated on Pericallia ricini through oral and contact treatment under the laboratory condition. The results showed deformity in larvae and pupae to various degree and was correlated with concentration, but at higher concentration deformity rate was reduced due to high lethal action. Larvae were unable to moult and shrinkage was also exhibited due to the irregular chitin deposition. Abnormal larvae with reduced body size, unable to moult properly, with swollen larval body resulting into larval-pupal intermediates, due to incomplete metamorphosis.
